The Story of Finding Home in Each Other
We call it God's perfect plan!
Roqia was born and raised in Afghanistan, and Anas was born and raised in Jordan, we accidently met in the United States, a quite global journey for us!
We first met at Notre Dame University, and connected on social media, where our chats were filled with deep conversations, and a shared appreciation for our family values, culture, and life experiences. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we were meant for each other.
When we finally met in Chicago, seeing each other, talking to each other, and simply being in each other’s presence confirmed what we had already known in our hearts—it’s real. It felt as if we had known each other forever, as if fate had been leading us to that moment all along.
Our parents in Germany and Jordan first met virtually, then our families met in person in Germany, embracing our love and uniting across borders. On January 27, 2024, surrounded by family and friends, we got engaged in Denver, CO.
From that day on, our journey together has been one of love, understanding, and navigating the uncertainties of life, all while building a new home away from home, side by side. Through every challenge and every joyful moment, we have grown stronger, deepening our connection and embracing the adventure of life together.
Now, as we step into this next chapter, we are grateful for our God, the love that brought us together, and our families, and excited for the future we will create as husband and wife.
Our story is just beginning, and we can't wait to celebrate this beautiful journey with you all.

If you’re flying into Chicago O’Hare (ORD) or Midway (MDW), here are the best ways to reach South Bend:
By Train (South Shore Line)

From O’Hare (ORD): Take the Blue Line to Monroe Station, then walk 12 minutes to Millennium Station and board the South Shore Line to South Bend.
